TITLE: Cook
REPORTS TO: School Food Service Manager/Principal
JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares cafeteria counter.
- Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
- Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area and kitchen.
- Monitor food safety and temperatures of food in accordance with HAACP standards.
- Maintain appropriate inventory stock and maintain adequate and clean storage areas.
- Monitor food usage and appropriately document production records.
- Perform cashier functions.
- Fully knowledgeable of meal pattern requirements.
- Assist in special events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the School Food Service Manager, Principal or Superintendent.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Preferably have computer skills
- Satisfactory completion of State mandated health examination.
EVALUATION:
- Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the School Food Service Manager/Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Salary commensurate with the Russell Independent Schools Classified Salary Schedule.
